Tree Fell Down In My Street, My Neighbor Decided To Create This Masterpiece
People invest a lot of time, energy, and money to find the perfect home. They consider various factors such as location, layout, outdoor space, and parking when looking at properties. The neighborhood it’s in is also an important aspect for many folks.
Imagine you find an amazing house, but nobody else lives on the entire block. Sounds lonely and sad, right? But what if you have rude neighbors, people who don’t maintain their lawns, or people who don’t pick up after their pets? Not only do you have a bad experience living there, but the property value could also decrease.

Looking at these entertaining pictures motivates you to have a reasonable relationship with the person living next door, especially when you plan on staying in the same space for a longer time. You don't need to become BFFs with them, but you should at least wave at them and say 'hello' while passing by.
Having mutual respect and getting to know people in the neighborhood can make your life a whole lot easier. They provide valuable insights about the area and keep a watchful eye on your home when you go on vacations or holidays.
And they can also lend a hand with renovations, receive your parcels, and pet-sit. Sometimes they might also babysit and house-sit for you.

Building such positive relationships fosters a sense of belonging, making your community truly feel like home. Studies show that having social connections results in not only good mental but also physical health. When you are surrounded by friendly and trustworthy people, you feel less stressed and get better sleep. This reduces the chances of an individual getting a heart attack.

A Pew Research Center survey in 2018 revealed that the majority of people in the US know at least some of their neighbors. Americans over 65 years of age are more likely to be acquainted with most of the people in the community. In contrast, approximately a quarter of adults under the age of 30 don’t know anyone in their vicinity.

It was also noted that neighborly interactions happen more in person than over the phone or text. Americans who know at least a few people around the area enjoy having face-to-face conversations. For instance, it’s common to bump into your neighbor at the local grocery store and have a quick conversation.

Among people who know at least some of their neighbors, a majority of individuals admitted that they don’t attend social events in the community. Get-togethers are the best way to get to know someone. So, the next time you can, invite people over for a fun barbeque session or plan a pot-luck dinner. Taking initiative is important if you want to build any relationship.

Other ways to bond are by taking up hobbies together, organizing a board game evening, neighborhood cleanups, and yard sales. Sometimes, however, we might end up living next to not-so-friendly people. In that case, there’s nothing much you can do except behave civilly with them. But if your neighbors are actively hostile, rude, or disruptive, then you should inform the community and try to collectively come up with a solution for it.

My Neighbors Appear To Be Moving Their Entire House 200 Ft Up In The Air
We have an Amish family living next door to us, while they finish building their farm house. They are, without doubt, the best neighbors I've ever had. We exchange things all the time...my unused art supplies to her children in exchange for fresh eggs from her hens, cupcakes are exchanged for homemade applesauce, fresh flowers from my garden are exchanged for tomato, squash and watermelon plants. All an unspoken thing, we just each share a little something once in a while.
When mom wanted me out of the house for a while (1960's), she'd have me walk down the road a piece to ask a neighbor if they wanted any, let's say, squash. She didn't give it to me beforehand. If neighbor said yes, I'd walk home and get the squash and then go back, where the neighbor then offered tomatoes to my mom. So walk back home, ask, walk back with the yes or no, and so on until dinner or streetlight time. Never occurred to me that it was set up with the neighbor, I just felt like a big deal being entrusted with such a task. I must have been 7 or 8 yo.

I did that once. With a grass pruner. Took a week. My lawnmower was under repair.
